We should have checked it out weeks ago but didn't. Pulled out the shotgun tonight and went over the loading and unloading of it. Making sure I know where the release is for the shells if I don't fire it, where the safety is and how many rounds it holds based on the way the weapon is set up.
We ran into a little snag but easy to fix. The autoload of the next round is sticking. No big deal loading one round and then racking the pump is going to scare most people except the worst. I'm going to clean it tomorrow and see if I can get any gunk off that might be causing it to stick.
If the cleaning doesn't take care it I've been dictated which gunsmith to take it to already. *giggle* Unfortunately I will probably have to do it on a weekend which means, bringing the boy. This is what I find so hilarious. Me, a 15 month old, a 12 gauge, and a gunsmith. Now that's a redneck combination if I've ever seen one. I'm sure anyone even at my fatty mcfatty weight will get a kick out of a girl walking into a gunsmith asking for them to take a look at the feeder for the autoload as well as ordering and installing a 20" barrell to make it more home defense friendly.....all the while toting a 15 month old on her other hip and a coach purse in the crook of her arm.
